| Description | Nez Perce Indian Tribal attorney and Clarkston, Washington, attorney. Material on the Nez Percé Indian Tribe of Idaho concerning court cases, tribal constitutions, Indian matters, some microfilm included. Also court case materials from his work as Asotin Port district attorney, research papers, correspondence, and proposals concerning the Clarkston area and the Lower Granite Dam. Includes two microfilm reels comprised of selected documents from the National Archives and Records Administration, Record Group 75 (Bureau of Indian Affairs), collected for the Washington, D.C. law firm Wilkinson, Boyden, Cragun & Barker in 1952 as supporting documentation for Nez Perce litigation. Dates are primarily 1855-1863. Mostly documents related to the 1855 U.S. treaty with the Yakima and Confederated Tribes and the 1863 Nez Perce treaty, along with selected correspondence. |
